Gotti Biopic In Trouble Again

More woes for the mob biopic GOTTI: In The Shadow Of My Father says Showbiz 411.

John Gotti who took over the powerful Gambino crime family in the 70's, was convicted in 1992 of committing thirteen murders. The film will explore that through the eyes of his son John A. Gotti Jr.

It seems that "there’s no money to move forward, and producer Marc Fiore has not been able to raise the money he needs". As a result, all work has halted and it's unlikely production could begin in January as planned

Funding was expected to arrive from overseas but it has not...

In the pic Ben Foster plays the younger Gotti. while John Travolta stars as Gotti Sr.
Al Pacino will play Gambino crime family underboss Aniello Dellacroce, an associate and mentor to John Gotti Sr. Lindsay Lohan will play Kim Gotti,, the wife of Jr Gotti Travolta's real-life wife, Kelly Preston. will play his on screen wife Victoria Gotti Chazz Palminteri will play fellow Gambino mob boss Paul Castellano a role he knows quite well since he did the same for the TV film Boss of Bosses in 2001

Leo Rossi wrote the inititial screenplay and then director Barry Levinson brought his "Bugsy" collaborator James Toback along to rework the script for "Gotti." The revisions will put more emphasis on Gotti's relationship with Dellacroce

Pre -production has not progressed far enough to be ready in time for the shoot. In fact several of the principals involved including Levinson, Travolta and Pacino were supposed to be paid this week.

Actor Joe Pesci filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles against the film's producer over his playing the role of Gotti Sr right-hand man Angelo Ruggiero and that role remains uncast
