Mickle Hangs With Cannibals

"Stake Land" director Jim Mickle will helm a remake of the 2010 cult horror pic "We Are What We Are" says Screen Daily.

Mexican director Jorge Michel Grau helmed the original about a family of cannibals in Mexico City.

Mickle's version puts the action in the poorer parts of New York State's Catskills region.

Mickle and Nick Damici are writing the script

Andrew Corkin, Rodrigo Bellott, Nicholas Shumaker, Linda Moran and Rene Bastian are producing the redo.

Shooting kicks off in June.
