Heard, Bichir, Join Machete Sequel

Amber Heard will play a manipulative assassin codenamed Miss San Antonio in Robert Rodriguez's upcoming sequel "Machete Kills" says Variety.


In the sequel to the 2009 action flick "Machete", the next film in a planned trilogy, finds Machete (Danny Trejo) recruited by the U.S. Government to battle his way through Mexico to take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer (Mel Gibson) who have hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space.

Meatime Mexican actor and Oscar nominee Demian Bichir is also in talks to join "Kills" as well as William Friedkin's indie thriller "Trapped" says Variety.


Bichir's role in 'Machete' is under wraps.

Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez are reprising their respective roles as Sartana and Luz from the first Machete.

Kyle Ward wrote the script.

Production is scheduled to kick off in Austin, Texas shortly.
