Mendes Returns For Bond #24?

The Daily Mail reports that "Skyfall" director Sam Mendes just might return to helm the next entry in the James Bond franchise after all.

Mendes' reluctance to return to the big chair for "Bond 24" was was because an earlier plan  that would see "Skyfall" co-writer John Logan script the next two Bond films as a connected story to be shot back-to-back.

It would mean a four year commitment on Mendes' part, added to the two years he already gave for "Skyfall".

Now it seems, the dual-film plan has apparently been scrapped for the nore traditional stand-alone film--Given that Mendes is said to be reconsidering the idea of coming back

Mendes and Logan have been developing the story for the next film, and a source for the paper claims Mendes is "75% of the way towards doing it."--he's just waiting to see the completed script before saying yes,.

Producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are hoping to get production underway at the end of the year for a late 2014 release.
