The $60 million dollar adaptation of author Lee Child's Jack Reacher book One Shot has made $80 million domestically, and has performed even better overseas making an additional $125 million on top of that. The reviews for 'Reacher' were solid, but not spectacular.
The suits are said to figuring out the sequel's direction and they will most likely try to keep the budget around the same as the first.
With nineteen Reacher books already completed, most of which tell stand alone stories (or could easily be adapted to reflect that), there's plenty of pre-written sequels for them to consider.
