Shane Black's Iron Man 3 is set to opem in two weeks internationally and three weeks in the United States--allowing for the first tracking numbers to be released.
The story is based on the popular six-issue mini series "Extremis" by Warren Ellis--The plot involves the spread of a virus through nanobots. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) will battle Ben Kingsley (as the Mandarin) and Guy Pearce's characters. Drew Pearce adapted the story into a script.
We also know that thanks to the events chronicled in The Avengers Stark suffers from PTSD in the film.
Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau Rebecca Hall James Badge Dale Ashley Hamilton William Sadler and Chinese star Wang Xueqi co-star.
According to Deadline, the film is looking to make a massive $125+ million for its opening weekend right now it stands above that of "Iron Man 2".
Three weeks out, the estimates generally get higher the closer we get to release. In fact, total awareness numbers are "in the 90s while definite interest is at 67".
The latter figure is even higher than "The Avengers," a film which went on to make $207 million for its opeming weekend last year.
