"Man Of Steel": Snyder On JL And MOS Sequel Talk

We are just shy of two weeks out from the release of Zack Snyder's "Man Of Steel"...

Chatting with Collider the director offered up his thoughts on a "Justice League" movie and a MOS sequel:

If they did offer you Justice League, and they offered you a Superman sequel, which is the one that gets your attention?

Look … completely hypothetically, I feel like you need … to get Superman a little further down the road, I think, before you can do a Justice League movie.

Considering that JL has no script--A 2015 release seems a bit of a Super-stretch

...So, I guess you’re saying that you could see yourself doing a Superman sequel and then perhaps…

I don’t know. All I’m saying is that you’ve got to get Superman further down the road

I agree with Snyder I would prefer if they did a few more solo movies with their heroes first--rather than slap a film together just to meet some date,...

We do know that MOS lays the groundwork for the eventual JL film--and to that end--Snyder revealed to Omelete a SPOILER of an example:

The Wayne Enterprises logo is on a satellite that Zod destroys.

They then asked him if he would like to pair off Batman and Superman in Man of Steel 2:

I don’t know. Everything is interesting at this point. And don’t forget that Lex is out there, doing who knows what…

We should what the future holds soon enough...

MOS stars Henry Cavill Amy Adams Michael Shannon Kevin Costner Diane Lane Antje Traue Christopher Meloni Harry Lennix Laurence Fishburne Russell Crowe and Ayelet Zurer. Emmy-winning actor Richard Schiff will play Dr. Hamilton. Cooper Timberline and Dylan Sprayberry both play young Clark Kent at various ages in the film. Jadin Gould is a young Lana Lang.

Bradley Cooper was said to be in talks to make a cameo appearance as Lex Luthor as a set-up for sequels. But that's not been confirmed. The folks at AICN claimed that Mackenzie Gray who played a Luthor clone during the final season of ‘Smallville’ will play "an ambitious, ego driven and cold version of Luthor." Now we learned that he in fact plays Jax-Ur. In the comic books, Jax-Ur has had a couple of different storylines in the past. Most often he is known as a criminal scientist who destroyed Krypton’s moon

David S. Goyer wrote the first screenplay draft based on a story he concocted with Christopher Nolan. His bro Jonah Nolan taking a crack at the task as well Kurt Johnstad did rewrites

Charles Roven, Emma Thomas Deborah Snyder, and Nolan will be producers on the film.

MOS flies into theaters June 14th 2013.
