Warner Bros chief Jeff Robinov told EW that Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy is its own thing while Zack Snyder's "Man Of Steel" will be part of a larger big screen 'world' and will be linked to other superhero films
Robinov also says that the studio will announce its long term plan soon: "We'll announce something in the next several weeks that will hopefully position the DC characters and the movies we're going to be making."
Both Robinov and reps of Nolan have confirmed that Nolan will NOT be producing any such "Justice League" film.
Meantime Collider spoke with Robinov's counterpart at Marvel honcho Kevin Feige who offered up some advice to his rival:
"Man of Steel looks like it’s going to be awesome and obviously Dark Knight is awesome… It's what I say all the time and have said over the years, which is, have confidence in the characters, believe in the source material, don't be afraid to stay true to all of the elements of the characters no matter how seemingly silly or crazy they are. I think there have been a lot of great DC stories and there are a lot of great DC characters, and if they focus on those things the audience will be interested. It was a very unique model that we were lucky enough to be able to do – introducing each individual hero before introducing The Avengers. That, to me, is what was always interesting about The Avengers"
Marvel is so far ahead of DC on film that short of a miracle they will sadly always have to play catch up...
