How Will GdT's Dark Universe Fit Into DC Films?

Asked about the status of Dark Universe--a movie that will bring together second string characters from DC Comics--ala` The Avengers but with a darker supernatural tone--director Guillermo del Toro tells MTV that, he's re-writing the outline at present while waiting on the writer that has already been hired.

The team itself will consist of John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Etrigan the Demon, Deadman, The Spectre and Zatanna.

The story will reportedly deal with Jason Blood's history with Merlin and King Arthur's knights, but bring the threat to present day.

The origin elements of the characters will be revealed over time instead of right at the start. This means Swamp Thing is already living a peaceful life, and Deadman is still searching for

While on the stump for Pacific Rim, he was asked if the building of the DC movie universe, starting with "Man Of Steel" has affected how the DU film is coming together.

del Toro says: "The great thing about the Dark Universe is you have this possibility of basically creating a supernatural group and you can play by different rules, but I would love to see the DC Universe become as cohesive as the Marvel filmic universe. So if there’s any correlation, I will honor it.
