Greengrass Revives "The Trial Of The Chicago 7" Film

Deadline reports that "The Bourne Ultimatum" and "United 93" director Paul Greengrass is in line to helm the long discussed historical drama "The Trial Of The Chicago 7"

The story follows the Chicago Seven who were charged with conspiracy and inciting to riot at the 1968 Democratic National Convention. The week-long street rioting made worldwide headlines.

Steven Spielberg was originally attached to direct it several years ago, but nothing has really moved on it since 2008. At the time, Sacha Baron Cohen, Will Smith, Kevin Spacey and Philip Seymour Hoffman were attached to star.

Aaron Sorkin started working on the script for Spielberg in 2007, before The Social Network, but a string of delays including the industry Writers strike caused Spielberg to drop the project which was then shelved

Production will likely begin in January
