Cooper Plays Lance Armstrong After All

Actor Bradley Cooper was once in the running to play disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong in the J.J. Abrams' produced "Cycle Of Lies"--an adaptation of New York Times reporter Juliet Macur's  book at Paramount...The next thing you know he was not.

Now, Deadline has confirmed that Cooper is in talks to both produce and star in a rival project from Jay Roach ("Meet the Parents") called "Red Blooded America" at Warner Bros and Atlas Entertainment.

Scott Z. Burns wrote the script. The producers have secured life rights to Armstrong's racing partner Tyler Hamilton who was one of the first insiders to testify under oath and come forward publicly to break the code of silence about Lance's doping up. It's unclear whether or not Cooper will play Armstrong or Hamilton.

Charles Roven and Alex Gartner will also produce the pic.

Stephen Frears is also directing a third as yet Untitled project about Armstrong at Working Title FilmsBen Foster ("Pandorum," "X-Men: The Last Stand")  was recently linked to star in that pic. John Hodge ("Trainspotting") wrote the script which will span Armstrong’s career from his cancer ordeal to the doping scandal that destroyed it.
