The film formally known as "All You Need Is Kill" aka We Mortals Are?" is based on Hiroshi Sakurazaka's 2004 book, the story follows a new recruit sent out to fight off an alien invasion and finding himself dying on the battlefield and being reborn each day. Five months into this cycle though, he notices something different than the previous versions - a female soldier who may be the key to his escape.
Piven's role is part of additional shooting and he is playing the character Colonel Walter Marx.
Tom Cruise stars in the film as does Rapper T.I. Emily Blunt and Charlotte Riley both play soldiers who fight with Cruise. Aussie actor Kick Gurry ("Speed Racer ," "Spartan") will play a fellow soldier. Bill Paxton would play a "tough-as-nails platoon sergeant" Marianne Jean-Baptiste will portray scientist Dr. Whittle.
Dante Harper wrote the adapted script which Joby Harold has re-written.
Jason Hoffs Tom Lassally, Jeffrey Silver and Erwin Stoff will produce the film.
Look for the film in theatres June 6th, 2014.
