Sony Wants A Female Superhero Film Out By 2017

Deadline posted an article this morning that  talks about the future of Sony Pictures's "Spider-Man" film series  saying that the studio is planning a major revamp of the property.

The biggest take away is that the studio is keen o making a female superhero movie based on the rights to one of the Marvel characters they own. That film is being eyed for a potential 2017 release date and is using a script written by Lisa Joy  ("Burn Notice," "Westworld").

Possibilities include Silver Sable, Black Cat (My personal fave), Stunner, Firestarter and Spider-Woman.

Drew Goddard's "The Sinister Six" is still in the mix with a November 11th 2016 release. The site also claims the Venom spin-off movie is still in play with "Venom Carnage" the current working title. Alex Kurtzman and Ed Solomon are still scripting that flick.

The Amazing Spider-Man 3 has been delayed BIG Time.
