David Twohy is one of my favorite industry folks...After a five year hiatus he is almost ready to return to the big screen with his next flick-A Perfect Getaway.
Originally scheduled to release this week, there's been a lot of folks wondering why there has been no marketing push thus far.
The director explains the situation on his official blog:
Universal Pictures screened the film and liked it so much they made a successful bid to pick up the distribution rights from MGM-a late Summer release is planned.
"The date that works for Uni schedule is now sometime in August, possibly August 14th... I'll even caveat that, if only because movies frequently change release dates these days. Sometimes it's a reflection of the movie itself, sometimes it’s simply about the musical chairs that all studios play with their releases. So don't get too hung up about it. I don't."
Milla Jovovich, Steve Zahn, Timothy Olyphant and Kiele Sanchez star in the thriller about a couple on their honeymoon who find themselves stalked by a pair of killers.
There's also the first two photos from the film of Jovovich and Sanchez.
Twohy is tapped to pen The Brazilian Job and is already working on the sequel to "Pitch Black" and "The Chronicles Of Riddick" with franchise star Vin Diesel,
