Dakota Fanning is negotiating to play lead singer Cherie Currie in '70s all-girl band biopic The Runaways, reports Variety15-year-old Fanning is the same age Currie was when she made her debut with the Runaways as the lead singer.
Currie became caught up in drugs and a hard-partying lifestyle.
Kristen Stewart has already signed to play member Joan Jett who went on to a famous solo career.
Floria Sigismondi writes and directs the film which begins production in late spring.
Stewart and Fanning rumored to be working on The Twilight Saga’s New Moon as well.
