Cast Before The Horse

Pop singer/actress Amanda Michalka (pictured) Kevin Connolly, Margo Martindale, Eric Lange Fred Thompson and Drew Roy (pictured) have all joined the cast of "Secretariat," says The Hollywood Reporter.





Randall Wallace directs the pic that follows the famous thoroughbred and its owner Penny Tweedy Chenery (Diane Lane), a housewife who broke though a gender barrier to win the 1973 Triple Crown.

Thompson will play a master horse breeder and one-time horse-racing league president Bull Hancock Michalka will play Lane's daughter; Connolly will play a sportswriter.

Martindale will play a veteran executive secretary who assists Lane through a dark time, Lange will portray real-life sportswriter Andrew Beyer, and Roy will play Thompson's son.
