New Treasures To Find

Ecosse films wants to make a contemporary film adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic adventure yarn Treasure Island reports Variety.


Made in the style of Guy Ritchie recent Shelock Holmes, the project will update the 19th century tale with a 'hipper' contemporary sensibility and a stronger focus on the relationship between Long John Silver and Jim Hawkins

Niall Johnson ("Callas") is writing the adapted script.

Douglas Rae and Robert Bernstein will produce the pic.

This is the 2nd movie in development in a week taking its cue from the new Holmes--Another trend takes hold in la la land
