Hob-Knocker

Even as she and her fellow Oscar nominees do lunch...Here's an interesting casting tid-bit...

Meryl Streep may play the role of Hobson the valet in the remake of "Arthur" reports Roger Friedman at Showbiz 411.

Peter Baynham is writing the new script for this do-over of the 1981 Dudley Moore comedy classic about a drunken millionaire playboy. No director has been locked yet

Russell Brand remains cast as the lead character, though the waitress he falls for has yet to be cast (Liza Minnelli in the original).

Acting great Sir John Gielgud played the character in the original and won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance.

Gender switching the role? Gives Streep the chance to make the part her own
