The studio called the script, “too dark, too expensive”. Then Peter Chernin took over and hired X-Men: First Class writer Jamie Moss to make it work . The final draft of the screenplay is credited to Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa.
The film is tagged as very loose remake of Conquest of the Planet Of The Apes...
I have not seen any of Wyatt's stuff. And thus can not make a judgment on this news Given its troubles I think it's ill fated to proceed but they will anyway.
There is no word yet as to a production start date.
