The Martian Chronicles, a collection of short stories penned by Ray Bradbury, never had the proper film adaptation. There was an adaptation of the collection in 1980 in the form of a miniseries led by Rock Hudson. Then in 1997, John Davis and Steven Spielberg aimed to get a film adaptation made. Alas, it didn’t happen.
Now, the stars have finally aligned for Ray Bradbury’s seminal sci-fi prose to get the silver screen treatment. The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog relays that the aforementioned Davis has production duties; at the moment, no one is signed on to either write or direct the feature.
Though I’m unfamiliar with these stories, it’s cool to see that this material is finally making its way to the silver screen after all this time.
How do you feel about this upcoming adaptation?
