Sullivan Stapleton Will Lead 300: Battle Of Artemisia

Sullivan Stapleton has won the lead role as Themosticles in 300: Battle of Artemisia says Heat Vision.

Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad's script is based on the upcoming graphic-novel sequel by Frank Miller.

Eva Green co-stars in the role of Artemisia, the ruthless, gold-covered goddess who persuades king-turned-god Xerxes to amass his army and helps lead the charge against the Greek forces.

The giant battle at the center of the film is said to be happening simultaneously with the events of the original "300." Themosticles is the general of the Greek army.

"Warrior" star Joel Edgerton turned down the chance to do the Themosticles role last year. Ironically, Edgerton, starred in Animal Kingdom along side Stapleton

Rodrigo Santoro, has been cast as Xerxes.

Noam Murro will call action

Mark Canton, Bernie Goldmann, Zack, and his wife Deborah Snyder and Gianni Nunnari will produce the picture.

It isn't known when production will begin on 300: Battle of Artemisia.
