-Bob Gale ("Back to the Future" trilogy) is on board to adapt Scott Hampton's supernatural graphic novel "Trespassers" for the big screen says Variety The story follows a group of mythbusters set on debunking the legend of a famous allegedly haunted house. Their rationality is put to the test when they discover demonic guardians, a gateway to hell and discover not all of them are exactly who they claim to be.
-Australian actors Cate Blanchett, Mia Wasikowska and David Wenham will all make their directorial debuts shooting segments for the upcoming anthology feature "The Turning" says The Hollywood Reporter. Based on author Tim Winton’s short story collection of the same name, the trio will join fourteen other directors on the project with each creating a chapter out of Winton’s work. The ensemble piece explores the extraordinary turning points in seemingly disparate but connected people’s lives, each chapter is self contained though characters and elements overlap.

She begins to climb her way up to the top just as the financial crisis hits.

-GK Films has acquired the film rights to Rick Yancey's young adult sci-fi novel trilogy "The 5th Wave" reports Variety. The story follows a teenage girl who survives an alien invasion only to then search for her brother, who may or may not have been abducted by human-looking extra-terrestrials. She is helped by a boy who might also be an alien in disguise.

-Keir Pearson and Larry Meli have optioned life rights to a biopic about civil-rights activist and labor organizer Cesar Chavez reports Reuters. Chavez worked as a community organizer through the 50's up until the early 90's and fought for improved working conditions for California farm workers, eventually co-founding what would become the United Farm Workers union. Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna's Mexico-based Canana Films will produce the film with Meli while Pearson ("Hotel Rwanda") will pen the script

Barber rallies to his son’s defense but the community turn against them both and his marriage begins to crumble as one of his own long buried secrets threatens to surface.
-C. Thomas Howell has joined the cast of Cole Mueller's indie crime drama "Magic Hour" says Variety. The story follows a young man who falls in with the local crime family in Venice Beach in the early '90s.
