Sony Pictures will re-imagine and reboot Sabrina the Teenage Witch on the big screen says Deadline.
The character started in the 60's in Archie Comics and was previously adapted into several animated series--but its most popular incarnation was the live-action 1996–2003 sit-com starring Melissa Joan Hart.
This new live-action film will see teen Sabrina as a superhero and will essentially be an origin story "about a young girl coming to terms with her remarkable powers".
Mark Waters is circling to direct depending on scheduling and timing
Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari wrote the script
Don Murphy and Susan Montford are producing the new pic
