Tatum Saves The White House?

Channing Tatum is in talks to star in the action-thriller White House Down says THR.

James Vanderbilt wrote the script that sees a paramilitary takeover of The White House.  Tatum would play a single father and Secret Service agent.

Sony Pictures paid $3 million for the script, the highest amount for a spec script sale so far this year.

Roland Emmerich will direct

Emmerich, Vanderbilt, Harald Kloser, Bradley Fischer and Laeta Kalogridis will produce.

Production hopes to kick off this Fall.

The project emulates another new action-adventure film Olympus Has Fallen poised to star Gerard Butler.
