Denzel Washington may join the remake of Sidney Poitier's 1974 comedy Uptown Saturday Night says Pajiba.
The original, which Poitier directed and starred opposite Bill Cosby, saw two friends who sneak out of their homes to visit a legendary - yet illegal - nightclub.
But the place is held up, and their wallets are taken, the pair must recover a winning lottery ticket that was in Cosby's wallet
Since buying the remake rights to the film in 2002, Will Smith has been trying to develop the update--even talking with Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence about possibly co-starring in the film at one point.
Robb Cullen and Mark Cullen (Cop Out) wrote a script draft
Washington even spoke about working with Smith on something. And it could be cool to see Denzel in a comedic pic.
