Leo Leaves; WB Dumps "The Imitation Game"

Warner Bros is no longer making the biopic "The Imitation Game" says The Hollywood Reporter.

The film deals with Alan Turing , an English mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst, computer scientist, criminally prosecuted and chemically castrated homosexual, and tortured soul who committed suicide by eating a cyanide-laced apple. Turing was highly influential in the founding of computer science and artificial intelligence, along with devising techniques for breaking German ciphers during the Second World War. He was also one of the earliest to explore the biological process of morphogenesis.

Graham Moore’s script is based on the biograpghy by Andrew Hodges.

Nora Grossman and Ido Ostrowsky will produce.

J Blakeson became attached to direct....after Ron Howard who was reportedly interested in directing the film last Fall wanted Leonardo DiCaprio to play Turing but both have moved on---and as a result Leo's decision Warners is letting go of the rights. Blakeson remains attached to direct.

The property will be repackaged and shopped around to other studios.
