Turteltaub Wants To Be "Beached"

Director Jon Turteltaub is looking to helm "Beached" as a directing vehicle for himself says The Hollywood Reporter.

The story centers on a chubby 4-year-old child who falls overboard during a family outing, is raised by whales and goes on to become a champion swimmer.

The original script was handed in by Ted Griffin (Ocean's Eleven, Tower Heist) with Betty Thomas attached to helm the film.

Now--Turteltaub will oversee the re-writing of Jordan Roberts' previous draft.

This really sounds ridiculous...I wonder if Swimmer Michael Phelps will star since he's retired...?

Turteltaub is now in pre-production on the comedy "Last Vegas" with Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman and Robert De Niro.
