Brolin Boards Penn's "Crazy"

Josh Brolin is in talks to star in the Sean Penn-directed "Crazy for the Storm" says Variety.

Based on author Norman Ollestad's memoir, that charts his relationship with his father (Brolin) and how the skills his father instilled in him helped him survive after a plane crash stranded him on a mountaintop.

Penn will use a script by Will Fetters but will NOT have a role.

Bill Gerber, Fonda Snyder and Rob Weisbach will produce the film.

The film marks Penn's first directorial effort since fellow survival drama, 2007's "Into the Wild".
