Paramount has nabbed the film rights to author Ramez Naam's 2012 science fiction novel "Nexus" says Deadline.
Set in the year 2040, the story follows a young technologist who becomes the first person to invent controllable nanotechnology software for the brain. He then becomes an unwilling pawn in an international battle to control the new technology, chased by mercenaries and government agents looking to make enhancements of their own.
Ari Handel ("Noah") and Mark Heyman ("Black Swan") are in talks to write the adapted script.
Darren Aronofsky, Cale Boyter, Scott Franklin and Mary Parent will produce the film.
