Do You Wanna See A "Star Wars" Annually Starting In 2015?

Disney made the announcement at CinemaCon that starting with the 2015 bow of  "Star Wars: Episode VII" the Mouse House will release a new "Star Wars" film each and every summer for the foreseeable future.


 

Chief suit Alan Horn said that they will accomplish this plan  by alternating between the major 'episode' movies one year, and various stand alone films focusing on single characters and other settings within the "Star Wars" universe the next.

Oscar winner Michael Arndt ("Toy Story 3," "Little Miss Sunshine") is writing the script for the “Star Wars: Episode VII that J.J. Abrams directs

Writers Lawrence Kasdan ("The Empire Strikes Back," "Raiders of the Lost Ark") and Simon Kinberg ("Sherlock Holmes," "X-Men: Days of Future Past") have reportedly closed deals to pen the final two instalments of the new "Star Wars" trilogy and the first two spin-off films which will hit in 2016 and 2018, between Episodes VII through IX.
