Robert Redford is set to replace the previously set Richard Linklater as director of the film adaptation of author Bill Bryson's 1998 lightly comedic travel memior "A Walk in the Woods" says Screen Daily.
Redford will also star and produce the film which involves two boyhood friends who go their separate ways and come back later in life for an outdoor adventure - a walk along the Appalachian Trail.
Nick Nolte will co-star as the other friend.
Redford oversaw a number of drafts of the adapted screenplay, which
Michael Arndt and Richard Russo have worked on.
