Jones Lands 2 Films--A Drama & A Biopic

Variety reports that Contraband” and “X-Men: First Class” co-star Caleb Landry Jones is attached to actor John Slattery’s directorial debut, “God's Pocket” and “Low Down”.


First up: “God’s Pocket” centers on the truth behind a young man’s (Jones) death that the dead-end town of God’s Pocket is trying to keep a secret. Based upon the novel by author Pete Dexter--Slattery co-wrote the adapted screenplay with Alex Metcalf.

Philip Seymour Hoffman, Richard Jenkins John Turturro and Christina Hendricks star

Hoffman, Slattery, Sam Bisbee, Jackie Kelman Bisbee, Lance Acord, Galt Niederhoffer and Emily Ziff will produce.

"Down" is a biopic about the life and times of Jazz pianist Joe Albany (John Hawkes) told from the perspective of his young daughter (), as she watches him contend with his drug addiction during the 1960s and '70s jazz scene.

Here Jones will play Fanning's love lnterest

The script is based upon the memior by A.J. Albany which has been adapted by Albany and Topper Lilien from which Jeff Preiss will direct.

Glenn Close, Taryn Manning Red Hot Chili Peppers band member Flea and Peter Dinklage co-star.

Ron Yerxa and Albert Berger will produce the film.

Mark Ruffalo signed on as an executive producer.
