The story centers on two friends (Damon Wayans Jr., Jake Johnson) who impersonate police officers using rented uniforms, giving their lives a boost and some fun. However, they run into trouble when they cross a dangerous Russian mobster.
Garcia will play a seasoned detective who inadvertently becomes the boss of the two wannabes.
Nina Dobrev Rob Riggle and James D'Arcy also star.
Luke Greenfield helms the pic using a script he wrote with Nicholas Thomas
Simon Kinberg, Greenfield and Aditya Sood will produce the film.
Production begins this Summer in Atlanta.
