Chloe Moretz and Asa
Butterfield are hoped to reunite on “The White Circus” says Variety.
The adventure-romance takes place on a snowy New Year’s Eve,
as a young pilot crashes his plane into a war-torn town on his first mission.
There, he falls in love with a beautiful cabaret singer, befriends a talking
circus bear and incites the townsfolk to liberate themselves from a despot.
Andrea Riseborough and Christian Friedel will also star. The dark fairy tale will be exec produced by Terry
Gilliam.
“Circus” is the first full-length directorial effort from Canadians Chris Lavis and Maciek
Szczerbowski, who earned kudos for their Oscar-nominated
animated short “Madame Tutli-Putli”. Another of their shorts, “Higglety Pigglety Pop! or There Must Be More to
Life,” was produced by Spike Jonze and boasts the voice talent of Meryl Streep and Forest
Whitaker.
Moretz and Butterfield were the stars of Martin Scorsese’s Hugo
