Shameless Actor Gets First Big Movie Role

Shameless star Jeremy Allen White has won the lead role in the tme travel found-footage film "Glimmer" says The Wrap.

The story follows a group of teenagers that takes a camping trip to investigate a series of missing persons. The teens end up discovering a portal that takes them back in time and traps them during the 1970s.

White will play the lead boy, haunted by the disappearance of his brother.


Commercials veteran Ringan Ledwidge is directing  the film using Carter Blanchard's sci-fi script, which made the Top 10 of the 2012 Black List.

"Gossip Girl" creator Josh Schwartz performed the most recent rewrite.

Mark Sourian and Adam Kolbrenner are producing the movie.

Productiom will take place in Pittsburgh later this Summer.

There is a similar-themed project being produced by Michael Bay called Almanac.
