Beckinsale Tracks "The Face of an Angel" Case

Kate Beckinsale will join the psychological thriller "The Face of an Angel" says Deadline.

The script written by Paul Viragh is loosely adapted from author Barbie Latza Nadeau's
novel "Angel Face". That book deals with the Amanda Knox murder trial and the media manipulation around it - especially by Knox's family.

Director Michael Winterbottom says this film follows a different path, focusing on a troubled filmmaker researching a sensational murder trial in Italy. When the victim becomes forgotten in the media frenzy, the filmmaker is inspired to reconnect with his own daughter.

Beckinsale plays a journalist covering the case.

Cara Delevingne will play the suspect while Daniel Brühl plays a documentary filmmaker who’s also trying to get to the bottom of things. Valerio Mastandrea also stars

Melissa Parmenter is producing the film.

Production begins shortly in Tuscany, Italy.
