More "Taken 3" Story Deets

We saw the first photos late yesterday, and now details have come out about Taken 3 officially dubbed "Tak3n".

Liam Neeson has reportedly closed a near $20 million deal to return as Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent who likes to beat up bad guys. Famke Janssen will reprise her role as Lenore Mills Maggie Grace is set to reprise her role as as Kim Mills as well.

Jonny Weston will play the part of Kim’s boyfriend. Forest Whitaker also stars. Janssen's Hemlock Grove series co-star is also in the pic.

In this film, Mills is framed for the murder of someone close to him and is on the run.

"Taken 2" helmer Olivier Megaton did return to direct while Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen were back working on the script.

Beeson will produce the film.

Talking about the plot to USA Today Neeson says:

"I have to go on the run, I'll put it that way, from the not-so-lawful types and the lawful authorities. Bryan Mills served his country faithfully, but now even they are after him. They must not like me. This time, no more traveling. If my daughter was 'taken' again on a trip, Bryan Mills would have to be certifiably locked up for bad parenting."

Neeson adds that the next film will see his character fight dirty in order to keep pace with the bad guys - one scene includes the use of a defibrillator to take them out. Neeson admits his age and physicality are a concern in terms of believability and that this will likely be the last time he plays the character:

"Bryan Mills wants to fight quick, using the dirtiest moves possible to finish. It's not like, 'Put your fists up, fellow!' Why fight like that when you can kick someone in the kneecap and be done with it? It's a rollicking good story. But I think this is the end. If I feel audiences saying, 'Come on, he's 62, enough is enough,' I'm very sensitive to that and if I pick up that vibe it will all stop. And I'll start playing dads or grandfathers,. But I keep myself pretty fit and my knees are still great. And it's fun."

Meantime-director Megaton told Empire that "It's like The Fugitive. Bryan is going to be chased through the whole movie, he's going to be in danger much more". It's ale confirmed the movie will take place entirely in Los Angeles, and one big sequence is a car chase down the wrong way of a freeway."

The first "Taken" had good reviews and took in $226 million worldwide from a $25 million budget. Taken 2 despite having poor reviews, still made an impressive $376 million from its $45 million budget.

The latest sequel has been scheduled for a January 9th release.
