After being attached for several years, Hugh Grant says he's no longer involved in  the proposed third film in the "Bridget Jones' franchise

In an interview with Free Radio (via THR), Grant said: "I decided not to do it, but I think they're going to go ahead and do it without Daniel."

Grant played Daniel in the 2001 original and its 2004 sequel.

Author Helen Fielding wrote the third book and film script simultaneously with David Nicholls and "Bridesmaids" helmer Paul Feig that will see Bridget (Renee Zellweger) having a mid-thirties baby crisis

Colin Firth is tipped to return

Peter Cattaneo ("The Full Monty") will direct the film.
