Is Ross Lynch The Next Zac Efron?

Teen Beach Movie star Ross Lynch has bought a pitch from "Seventeen Again" writer Jason Filardi with the intention to make the big screen leap says The Hollywood Reporter.

The plot of the film is currently being kept under wraps, but sources say it's a high-concept supernatural comedy set in a New England high school.

Jennifer Gibgot Steve Michaels and Jonathan Koch will produce the pic.

Lynch's path is similar to 17 Again star Zac Efron who built a strong fanbase demo while working with Disney before moving on, Lynch stars in the tween sit-com Austin & Ally and cameoed in  Muppets Most Wanted.

This comedy marks the first starring movie role for the lead singer of the band R5
