Taking its story from Allen Ginsberg's poem Variety says the project centers on the 1950's obscenity trial over Ginsberg's infamous work, as well as an animated reimagining of the poem itself.
James Franco (pictured) plays Ginsberg.
Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman direct from their own screenplay.
Production begins next month...
Franco can do any genre...From other biopics like Milk crowd-pleasers Spider-Man 3 and comedy...the uproarious Pineapple Express
