All I Need Is Another $5 Million

Mr. Apocalypse director Roland Emmerich tells MTV News that his upcoming adaptation of author Isaac Asimo's sci-fi Foundation series will rely on the same technology that was used to bring James Cameron's Avatar to the screen--3-D and motion capture.

"The 'Avatar' technology applies to 'Foundation'. It has to be done all CG because I would not know how to shoot this thing in real" says Emmerich as he awaits a new draft of the script from Robert Rodat

"[Avatar has] just shown that if you do a movie in 3-D, you can ask for more money and that's the trick. I think now everybody who does bigger movies has to shoot them in 3-D."

Interesting....

The 'Foundation' center upon a scientific organisation set up to ensure civilization's survival thanks to psycho-history, a successful scientific method of predicting future events.

Emmerich also confirmed that the TV series spin-off of his last pic "2012", which would follow humanity's remnants establishing civilization again, is not happening.
