Mag-Ni-Tude

Sean Bean, Dougray Scott and Robert Vaughan are set to star in the UK comedy The Magnificent Eleven says Screen Daily.

A new spin on the classic Western story replaces the Cowboys with a local amateur soccer team, the Indians with Tandoori restaurant owners, and the bandits with a group of hoods.

Irvine Welsh, author of Trainspotting will direct from a screenplay by John and Peter Adams

John Adams also produces the picture.

"Having worked with [Welsh] on his feature film Good Arrows, I am certain that the team we have assembled for [the film] can deliver a quality feature film with massive commercial potential," Adams said in a statement.

The film is a modern day remake of The Magnificent Seven, which itself is a re-imagining of Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai. Vaughn is the last surviving cast member from the original John Sturges-directed pic.
