2 more Dracula-themed films are in the works...
Tim Burton is re-teaming with Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov to produce a film adaptaton of Seth Grahame-Smith's Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter says Heat Vision Blog
The story sees President Abraham Lincoln reimagined as the ass-kicking nemesis of vampires everywhere, a man who saw his own mother killed by a bloodsucker when just a young boy, and who has vowed vengeance ever since. Yet it also weaves in historical facts about his term in the White House.
Meantime Austrian filmmaker Stefan Ruzowitzky ("The Counterfeiters") is in negotiations to direct the horror-thriller "The Last Voyage of Demeter " says The Hollywood Reporter.
Based on a chapter in Bram Stoker's classic novel "Dracula", the story describes the voyage taken by the vampire to England on a merchant vessel shipping cargo from Transylvania to London.
Stoker tells the story by way of the captain's log of the voyage, which begins in Bulgaria and becomes increasingly disjointed as members of the crew disappear as Dracula feeds on them to sustain himself.
The ship eventually crashes on the rocks at Whitby with the only soul on board the dead captain who has been lashed to the steering wheel.
Bragi Schut penned the script a decade ago for the long-gestating pic --which has had the likes of Marcus Nispel ("Friday the 13th," "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre") and Robert Schwentke ("Flightplan) previously looking to direct.
Mike Medavoy Arnie Messer and Brad Fischer will produce.
