Variety relays that Ron Edwards, who penned the script for the animated musical The Princess and the Frog, will write two new features, one for the Mouse House and one for Warner Bros.
The Disney one is currently titled Animated American, which features an animated 18-year-old who lives with an adoptive family and seeks his genetic family – all in a real-life setting. Honestly not sure what the appeal there is, but – no surprise – motion-capture fan Robert Zemeckis is on board for production duties along with Bob Cooper.

The Warner Bros. feature is Amulet, which derives from Kazu Kibuishi’s graphic novel about siblings who battle monsters in an alternate world.
