Scott Helps Regan & Gorby @ Reykjavik

Ridley Scott has signed on to direct the political/hitorical drama Reykjavik says Screen Daily.

Reagan And Gorbachev At Reykjavik Summit In Iceland, 1986 (Reagan Library)

The story is based on the 1986 Reykjavík Summit between President  Ronald Reagan and Russian President n Mikhail Gorbachev which led to the I ntermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty between the two super powers.

Kevin Hood is writing the script.

Sir Ridley has had this one in the pipeline forever. While I am curious to see what develops moving forward here I wonder if he'll have the time

He's currently shooting the Alien connected pic "Prometheus" and is linked as potential director of an as yet Untitled Gertrude Bell Biopic the mobster drama "The Kind One", adaptations of the novels "Brave New World" and "The Forever War" and a film based on the Monopoly board game among scores of other projects due in the next few years....

Looking forward to Reagan and Gorby! As in the case of Kruschev and the young Kennedy, old Gorby surely underestimated the most principled man to occupy the Oval Office in the 20th century.
