As reported by Variety, he’ll portray bluesman B.B. King in Michael Schroeder’s upcoming biopic B.B. King and I; Patrick Fugit will play Michael Zanetis, a drummer and friend of King. The film derives from the real-life story of King’s friendship with Zanetis.

For whatever reason, a spring 2012 release is what producers aim to snag. It’s an Oscar-bait project if there ever was one, but a release in the spring practically kills its chances at any year-end awards recognition.
