Adrian Grunberg's action comedy "Get the Gringo" aka How I Spent My Summer Vacation starring Mel Gibson will not be released theatrically in the United States reports Reuters.
Instead the the R-rated film will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, VOD and digital download platforms.
DIRECTV® will aggresively promote a $10.99 HD on-demand premiere on May 1st. Once its exclusive window is done, then the film will hit disc and streaming.
Gibson plays a career criminal who ends up in a tough Mexican prison when a young boy (Kevin Hernandez) teaches him how to survive in this hostile environment.
Theatrical plays are planned for the film in various international territories.
