Zoe Saldana and Casey Affleck are in line to join Scott Cooper's Out Of The Furnace, aka The Low Dweller says Vulture.
The story is based on a spec script by Brad Ingelsby and centers on Slim (Christian Bale), an Indiana native who has just been freed from prison in 1986. Although he initially has plans to marry his girlfriend, Slim's brother (Affleck) is soon found to be murdered after falling in with a dangerous gambling racket. This eventually leads to Slim's quest for revenge.
Robert Duvall, is the top contender to play the hero’s uncle, while Viggo Mortensen is being mentioned for the bad guy...Affleck was in contention with Channing Tatum Garrett Hedlund, and Taylor Kitsch for brother role.
Saldana would play Bale's ex-wife who is married to the town's sherriff.
Back in 2008 the script was highly sought after attracting directors like Rupert Sanders and Ridley Scott as well as actor Mark Wahlberg.
Scott his brother Tony Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran will produce, with Brooklyn Weaver is executive producing.
