Even as Adam Sandler's Jack and Jill swept the 32nd annual Razzies his production company Happy Madison is in negotiations to take over the long gestating remake of 1987 comedy "Summer School" says The Hollywood Reporter.
The original version starred Mark Harmon as a gym teacher forced to cancel his summer plans and teach an English class filled with oddballs and rebels. Carl Reiner called action and it co-starred Kirstie Alley and Courtney Thorne-Smith
Paramount's been trying to remake the film since 2005, at one time Trek duo Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci were on board. Several writers are expected to be hired shortly to start work.
