"Country Strong" helmer Shana Feste is in talks to rewrite and direct a remake of "Endless Love"says The Hollywood Reporter.
Based on author Scott Spencer's 1979 novel, the story follows two teenagers and their all-consuming love for each other. Things take a tun when the boy turns obsessive and concocts a plan to ingratiate himself to the girl’s family by setting her house on fire.
The book was previously adapted for the screen in 1981 starring Brooke Shields and Martin Hewett.
Josh Safran wrote an earlier draft of the screenplay which Feste will polish.
Scott Stuber, Pam Abdy, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage will produce.
